Spill Risk Management

RISK REDUCTION REGIMES AND SPILL CONTINGENCY PLANNING.

DO YOU HAVE A DEFENCE?

Consider this simple question......

If you had a spill, which resulted in a pollution incident, or worse still, someone was injured, could you demonstrate that you had taken all reasonable steps to prevent this happening?

If you cannot, then you need to consider the implications to the business and you personally, of existing and future legislation. In simple terms "Ignorance is no defence". You could receive a penalty under the application of the legislation, if you cannot demonstrate the necessary Due Diligence.
With proper planning, training and problem solving, the risks can be reduced and compliance with the regulations and legislation achieved successfully.

DOES YOUR ORGANISATION HAVE A SPILL CONTINGENCY PLAN?

A spill event at the site that has the potential to affect personnel and/or the environment can be managed successfully if a clear step by step document with all procedures, emergency and support contacts and site information is used. OH&S and Environmental legislation and the ADG Code requires organisations to have a plan for response to hazardous fluid spills.

Employees who need to respond to the pollution incident also require clear instructions, plans, contact & resource lists and much more, to ensure prevention and clean-up of the pollution incident is completed safely and to the business operator's requirements. Appointed Spill Team Leaders can refer easily to this Spill Plan so that management, directions and information is covered correctly.

Prenco can assist with your preparation of a site specific Emergency Spill Contingency Plan with advice on the right spill control equipment and placement of those necessary resources.
